Yoga for beginners – starting January 2019

Do you want to start learning yoga from the ground up in a systematic and secure way? Come and join a Level 1 class for beginners in our studio!

We are working on a solid basis in the beginning, doing a lot of standing poses. After a while we also start with simple forward extensions, backward extension and also with inversions (shoulder balance). You will receive detailed instructions for each pose and our teachers will correct you individually.

Starting on 7 January 2019, we offer the following Level 1 classes for beginners:

  • Monday, 9am (taught by Ivan)
  • Tuesday, 9am (taught by Marcela)
  • Tuesday, 6pm (taught by Ivan)
  • Friday, 6pm (taught by Joerg)

It’s advisable to join the classes right from their start in the first week. However, you can also join later.

Special promotion in January!

  • Trial class free (instead of CHF 30)
  • Trial month CHF 60 (instead of CHF 100)

Workshop with H.S. Arun – „Arunji“ from Bangalore, India

H.S. Arun (“Arunji”), the famous and experience Iyengar Yoga teacher from Bangalore, India, will be teaching a workshop at Iyengar Yoga Zug on the weekend of October 5-7, 2018.

Arunji is teaching workshops around Europe this fall and we are very happy that he is visiting Zug for the first time!

His workshop is open for everyone, beginners and more experiences practitioners.

Yoga classes for beginners

On Monday, August 27, 2018, our regular timetable starts again. We are looking forward to seeing you in class!

We are offering one new Level 1 class:

  • Tuesday evening at 7:45pm (with Joerg Trinkler)

In addition to this new class, we of course continue our already existing Level 1 classes:

  • Monday morning at 9:00am (with Ivan Herger)
  • Tuesday morning at 9:00am (with Ivan Herger)
  • Friday evening at 7:45pm (with Ivan Herger)

All Level 1 classes are perfectly suitable for you if you want to start your yoga practise, and if you have no experience with yoga. In the Level 1 classes, we are working on the basic yoga postures (mostly standing poses, but also simple forward bends and backbends, as well as shoulder balance), and we take enough time to get to know the poses in detail.

Of course, you are also welcome to join our Level 1 classes if you have some yoga experience, but want to work (again) on your basic poses in a safe and systematic manner.

All our teachers are certified Iyengar Yoga teachers, and have passed the 3 year teacher training course. We continuously work on our own practice and attend workshops in Switzerland and abroad, lead by experienced Senior Iyengar Yoga teachers.

Yoga Summer 2018

Also this year: join us for the 2018 yoga summer in Zug, from July 2 to August 25, 2018!

Enhance and deepen your yoga practise this summer in our studio in Zug. During the whole month of July, we are teaching every day (except Sundays…).

Compile your own personal yoga summer schedule, and enjoy the beautiful summer in Zug. You decide when you want to come to class – as often as you like!

For example:

  • Your morning yoga summer: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday at 9am (practising yoga in the morning, jumping in the lake in the afternoon), or
  • Your evening yoga summer: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday at 6pm (hiking in the mountains during the day, practising yoga in the evening), or
  • Everyday, all classes!

Iyengar Yoga Classes with Gauri Kulkarni (Pune/India)

Gauri Kulkarni from Pune/India is visiting us again! Gauri will be staying in Zug from Monday, April 9 to Saturday, April 14, 2018, and she will be teaching one or more classes every day (have a look at our online schedule for the class details). Gauri is a longterm student of BKS Iyengar, Geeta Iyengar and Prashant Iyengar at their institute in Pune and a great teacher, and she has been assisting in the therapy classes of the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute (RIMYI) in Pune.

She travels through Europe every year teaching yoga to collect donations to support her projects with women at the lowest steps of the social ladder in and around Pune.

You can help Gauri by simply coming to class, pay the normal fee (all cards and passes are valid), and more so by any donation in the moneybox at the desk in the studio.
