YoGGA

Since Monday, Dezember 20, 2021, the yoga classes in our studio are subject to the 2G-Covid rules, as defined by the Federal Office of Public Health FOPH.

We are also required to practise yoga with a mask.

That’s not ideal of course, but we are happy that we can stay open.

And we are looking forward to seeing you in class!

Good news for summer 2021

We have a lot of good news for you for the start of the summer!

  1. We can now practise yoga without any limitations again, in particular without mask and without a limit of the number of people. We are very happy about that, and we are looking forward to moving around more freely in the studio, e.g. to use the wall and the ropes again. If you still want to be cautious: our groups generally have a very moderate size at the moment, and our studio is really large anyway.
  2. We are open the whole summer. All classes are open for all levels.
  3. Apart from our standard classes, we are also offering special classes during summer:
    – Early Bird each Friday morning from 7am to 8am (with Anna Dahinden)
    – Beginners’ Class each Tuesday evening from 8pm to 9pm (with Anna Dahinden)
  4. If you want to practise yoga intensively in summer, you can profit from our unlimited yoga summer cards: 1 week for CHF 80, 2 weeks for CHF 150, and 4 weeks for CHF 260. A good way to get back into a regular practise!

We are looking forward to seeing you!

Offline classes

Good news: starting from Monday, May 11, 2020, we will resume our classes in the studio.

We will publish the details of the timetable in the next few days.

For the next few weeks, we will also keep some of the online classes.

In order to follow all hygienic measures and the safety concept, only 9 people per class will be allowed. It is therefore still necessary to register for each class.

We are looking forward to seeing you back in the studio!

Online yoga classes

Starting this week, we are no longer teaching in-person classes at Iyengar Yoga Zug, since all yoga classes in Switzerland have been cancelled.

We thought: this special time needs flexible solutions.

That’s why we offering online yoga classes, starting on Thursday, March 19. 2020. We have currently scheduled 9 classes per week, which is almost the same as we are usually teaching live.

A big thank you goes to Anna Dahinden, who initiated these online classes with her enthusiasm. Anna will be teaching most of the classes.

We hope that we can help you to stay calm and centered in these special weeks. Also, we are very grateful to you, if you can support our studio with your attendance to survive this crisis (as many other small independent businesses, the ban on events has hit us rather hard).

Online Yoga – here’s how it works

In a normal yoga class, we are close to each other and we can observe each other and provide feedback easily. Online, this is a bit different, and it needs some adaptations.

Online classes are new – both for us teachers as well as for you as participant. We are therefore going step by step and we will find out what works and what doesn’t work. We welcome all your feedback!

General background

  • We are teaching online yoga classes that are happening live at certain times, like our “normal” yoga classes. You can find the schedule on our website.
  • You have to register online for each class. All cards and passes are valid.
  • You need a mobile phone, tablet or a computer with a camera (yes, we will be correcting you!)
  • The duration of a class is 75 minutes, which is slightly shorter than usual (we will not teach certain poses, like Sarvangasana/shoulder balance, because they require props which most people do not have at home).

Preparation

  • Please download the app “Zoom”: https://zoom.us/download (there are different versions for different devices). You only have to do this once.
  • Register online for every class, either on our app or on our website.
    • Attention: in the app, you can only register for a class if you have a valid pass. If you don’t have a valid pass, you can register on our website, where you can buy a new pass with your credit card.
  • Prepare a place at home where you have enough space, and where you will not be disturbed.
  • You need a mat, and maybe other props (see below) and a stable place for your mobile phone/tablet/computer. Take some time to install yourself before your first class.
  • You will receive an email with a link for the online class. Each link is only valid for a single class.

During the online class

  • Be present and practise with us, as in a normal yoga class.

Yoga props

You can borrow props from us during the next couple of weeks, so that you can participate in our online classes with good equipment, without having to buy everything ourself. Please let us know if you are interested in this.

Corona virus – update March 16, 2020

All yoga classes are cancelled with immediate effect, based on the the regulations published by the Swiss government. These rules are in effect until April 19, 2020.

We will keep you informed as soon as we have more information.

Corona virus

At Iyengar Yoga Zug, we have also been thinking about if and how we should continue our yoga classes due to the corona virus pandemic.

We are following the rules imposed by the Swiss authorities. After consulting with the authorities of the canton of Zug, we have decided to continue our classes, although with some restrictions:

  • We are operating a reduced schedule (roughly half of the classes are cancelled). Please always consult our online schedule or our app.
  • We are restricting our classes to a maximum of 12 participants per class, in order to keep the required distance. Please register online for all classes from now on.
  • If you are not feeling well, or if you belong to a risk group, then do not come to class.
  • Before class, please wash your hands thoroughly with water and soap and use hand disinfectant (provided at the entrance).
  • Use our special disinfection swipes to disinfect our yoga mat before class.
  • Keep your distance to your fellow practitioners, also in the changing rooms.

We are closely monitoring the situation and we will adapt our measures if required. Please regularly consult our website.

Stay healthy!
