About Kristien Van Reusel
Kristien Van Reusel is a Senior Iyengar yoga teacher, and she has been practicing since 1990. From childhood on, Kristien has been attracted to physical work, being first a gymnast, then a dancer and after that becoming a Certified Laban Movement Analyst.
Her development went from the pure physical via artistic work to the spiritual practice that is yoga. Being educated in the Iyengar yoga teacher training of Clé Souren, John Floris, Annemieke Post, Charles Hond and Nanda Peek in Amsterdam (NL), Kristien has access to a vast background of knowledge and experience.
The learning process never stops: Kristien studies in Pune with Geeta and Prashant Iyengar on a regular base since 2004, in those days often under the sharp eyes of Mr. Iyengar himself. In Amsterdam, Kristien teaches daily classes in her Yogaschool Amsterdam, where she also mentors students on their way to Iyengar yoga teacher-ship in the Introductory and Intermediate Junior levels of teaching.
Kristien is an assessor for the teacher-exams organised by various international Iyengar yoga associations, and up until June 2018 she is a member of the board of the Dutch Iyengar yoga association (representative of the Ethical and Certification Committee).
